Nurvana Aesthetics & Wellness
How Telehealth Works
Last updated: October 28, 2026
Nurvana Aesthetics & Wellness is a physician-supervised medical practice in Aptos, California. Most of our care happens in the clinic. For some services we also offer online visits, so a California resident can be evaluated by one of our licensed providers without coming in. This page explains exactly what that involves. It is not a consent form; the document you sign before an online visit is the Telehealth Informed Consent.
1. Who we treat online
Online visits are available to adults 18 and older who live in California and are physically in California at the time of the visit. Our providers hold California licenses, and California law governs the care. The intake stops before any payment if you are outside California or under 18.
Services offered by online visit include medical weight management, hormone and sexual health, hair loss, prescription skincare, and peptide therapy. Every one of these is a medical service delivered by a licensed provider, not a product we sell.
2. What happens, in order
- Intake. You answer a medical history questionnaire, upload a government photo ID, and sign the telehealth consent, the HIPAA acknowledgment, and any treatment-specific consent.
- Visit fee. You pay a visit fee of $50 if you already have recent labs to upload, or $150 if labs need to be ordered. This fee pays for a licensed provider’s time and clinical judgment. It is the only charge before a provider has reviewed you, and it is owed whether or not anything is prescribed (see refunds).
- Provider review. A California-licensed provider reviews your intake, labs and ID, by live video or by asynchronous review, and decides whether treatment is appropriate. The provider may ask for more information, order labs, or decline to prescribe.
- Prescription decision. Only if the provider issues a prescription do you see a medication or care-plan option to accept. Nothing is charged for medication, and no recurring plan starts, until a prescription exists and you have accepted a specific option at a stated price.
- Dispensing. The prescription is sent to a state-licensed compounding pharmacy (a 503A pharmacy), which prepares it for you, by name, and ships it to your California address or to our clinic for in-person administration. The pharmacy’s name and license number appear on your medication label and in your patient portal.
- Ongoing care. Follow-up, dose changes and refills are provider decisions made through your portal. A care plan can be paused or cancelled from the portal at any time; see memberships and subscriptions.
3. What we never do
- We never sell or ship a prescription medication without a provider visit and a prescription.
- We never charge for medication before a prescription has been issued.
- We never dispense research-grade or non-pharmacy peptides, and we never stock compounded GLP-1 or peptide medication for resale. Every fill is a patient-specific prescription.
- We never treat patients outside California by telehealth.
- We never prescribe controlled substances by telehealth.
- We never present a compounded medication as FDA-approved or as equivalent to an approved drug. Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide are not FDA-approved and are not generic versions of Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro or Zepbound.
4. The pharmacies
We work with 503A compounding pharmacies licensed in good standing by their state boards of pharmacy and licensed or registered to ship into California. Because the network changes with licensure and supply, we identify the pharmacy that fills your order on your label and in your portal rather than in a fixed list here. Our provider and pharmacy disclosure has the full statement.
5. What it costs and how refunds work
Visit fees are stated before you pay. Program and medication prices are shown on the service pages and again, for the specific option your provider approved, before you accept it. A visit fee is refunded in full if no provider review takes place, and is not refundable once a provider has evaluated you. A dispensed prescription medication cannot be returned or refunded; a damaged or incorrect shipment is replaced at no cost. The full policy is in our Terms of Service.
6. Your records
Your intake, ID, labs and visit notes are part of your medical record and are handled under our Notice of Privacy Practices. Payment card details are handled by our payment processor and are never stored on our servers.
